Solar Permitting Across Abilene Cities: What to Expect

Each city has its own rules. Here is the general timeline from contract to power-on.

Most Abilene cities issue residential solar permits within 1 to 4 weeks of submission. After installation, the city performs an inspection, then the utility — typically AEP Texas — installs a new bidirectional meter so your system can export to the grid.
